In a dense forest, there lived a mischievous crow who was known for his greed and meddling nature. His constant interference in others’ affairs made him unpopular among the animals and birds. One day, while scavenging, he stumbled upon a piece of meat lying on the ground. Excited, he snatched it up in his beak and perched himself on a high tree branch, ready to enjoy his meal.

Just as he was about to eat, he noticed a small bird—Kasay Kasay—flying past, carrying a tiny dead animal in her beak. Curious and nosy as always, the crow called out, “Hey! Where did you find that?” But Kasay Kasay ignored him and flew faster, not wanting to engage.
The crow’s pride was stung. Enraged, he shouted again, “Stop right there! Give me some of that, or I’ll take the whole thing!” Still, the little bird pretended not to hear and continued on her way.

Blinded by anger and greed, the crow decided to chase her, completely forgetting about his own piece of meat still lying on the tree. Despite his efforts, Kasay Kasay was much quicker, and the crow couldn’t catch her.
Meanwhile, a sharp-eyed hawk spotted the abandoned meat on the tree. Recognizing the crow’s foolish mistake, he swooped down, snatched the meat, and flew off.
Exhausted and defeated, the crow finally gave up the chase and returned to his tree—only to find his meal gone. Hungry and regretful, he sat in dismay.

Just then, the hawk circled back and called out mockingly, “Too bad for you—I took your meat!” With a sinking heart, the crow realized the cost of his greed and interference. He had lost his own meal by foolishly chasing after someone else’s.
